Good evening everyone!
Yes, I know I forgot to post yesterday, but I have a good excuse. I had to study for an English quiz last night. I think I did well, at least, so that's a plus! I'll still make sure to post something not school related soon.
Remember to do Wordle and Connections before reading! You have been warned!!
For Wordle today I started with AVOID. That got me an A and an O, both in the wrong spots. After fiddling with beginnings for a bit, I decided on MOLAR for my second word. The O and A were still in the wrong spots, but I had a green L. R and M were not correct. After messing around a little more, experimenting with letters, I settled on BALOT for the third word. This meant that I then had A, L, and O in the correct spots, and T in the wrong spot. I confidently typed TALON into the game, and was rewarded with a win in four moves.

The words in connections today were PLUM, KISS, WHOLE, CLAW, SKIM, PERFECT, HUG, SOY, OYSTER, FRUIT, ODD, BRUSH, WITNESS, XO, GRAZE, and PRIME.
The ones that immediately stood out to me were SOY, WHOLE, and SKIM. I assumed they would fall under a "___ milk" category. Unfortunately, the words are in groups of four, so I scanned the words, trying to figure out what the last one could be.
After a little bit of messing around and a failed guess, receiving the message "one away", I completed the category "touch lightly". It included BRUSH, GRAZE, KISS, and, SKIM. There went my milk theory!
I was thinking along the lines of drinks when I chose CLAW, OYSTER, FRUIT, and PLUM, but it ended up being a dead end. Down to two wrong moves left.
I chose PERFECT, ODD, WHOLE, and PRIME, thinking maybe it was talking about numbers (perfect squares, odd numbers, whole numbers, and prime numbers). This turned out to be a correct assumption, and I only had two categories left. Still two misses remaining.
Grasping at straws by this point and desperately wondering what the last two categories could be, I entered OYSTER, FRUIT, SOY, and PLUM. I was thinking that it might be "___ sauce" (is there even such a thing as oyster sauce? Is fruit sauce a thing??). This, of course, was not correct, but I got the "one away" message.
Pretty much randomly, I substituted FRUIT for CLAW, and was still wrong. Even though I was out of guesses, I was pleased to see that the category was, in fact, sauces (specifically "sauces in Chinese cuisine"), and the words were XO, SOY, PLUM, and OYSTER. The remaining words (CLAW, FRUIT, HUG, and WITNESS) formed the "bear ___" category. For anyone wondering, it's not talking about an actual bear in some of them. Bear fruit and bear witness are using another definition of bear. Not the animal.

Thanks for reading! Hope you guys have a good rest of your evening!

P.S. Sorry the images are so big, I'm not sure why they're like that.
